As you progress in the game, you will be able to unlock features and buildings. One of the Spiritual Beasts you can procure is the Thunderbird, for which you need to acquire a Thunderbird Totem.
Spiritual Beasts
Monarchs can acquire a variety of Spiritual Beasts when they meet certain requirements. Spiritual Beasts are special creatures which function similarly to Dragons.
This means that you can assign a beast to a General to enhance his or her abilities.
Every Spiritual Beast has unique unlock requirements and a different speciality in terms of its best use.
For example, the Thunder Scorpion specializes in Ranged PvP Generals, while the Behemoth King should be assigned to Siege PvP Generals.
So you should understand your Spiritual Beasts’ abilities and assign them to the correct Generals to receive the most benefits.
Evony: Thunderbird Totem
There are more than 5 Spiritual Beasts in Evony, one of which is the Thunderbird. However, to add this beast to your Pasture, you need to obtain a Thunderbird Totem.
Unfortunately, this item can only be procured during a Spiritual Beast Event. We therefore recommend that you regularly check the Event Center to know when a Spiritual Beast event is active.
At the time of writing, players can participate in the Thunderbreeze Lake event, which you can find in the ”Valuable Event” section instead of the “Event Center” in the game.
This event will remain active for approximately 10 days, which means that you will get enough time to complete objectives to procure the Thunderbird Totem.
This item can be exchanged for 400 Spiritual Beast Scales, which can be obtained by slaying Boss Monster and Event Monsters during the event period.
However, you can also purchase a pack that contains Spiritual Beast Scales. Keep in mind that these packages can only be purchased with real money.
However, it is not mandatory to purchase a package, as the scales can also be obtained for free by killing monsters on the world map.
To vanquish monsters, you have to open your map and search the map for bosses. When you find a boss, you can click on it to see what your winning odds are.
We recommend that you only attack when you have high, or extremely high, winning odds. After the battle, you will receive a range of rewards, including Spiritual Beast Scales.
Thunderbird
After unlocking the Thunderbird, you can assign the beast to a General to enhance his or her abilities. This beast performs best when it is used with Siege PvP Generals and Ranged PvP Generals.
This is because all the beast’s buffs are focused on improving the statistics of Siege Machine and Ranged Troops.
When you have upgraded your Thunderbird to Level 20 and Red Quality, you will receive the following buffs:
- Ranged Troop Health Points are increased by 78 percent
- Enemy Ground Troop Defense decreased by 52 percent
- Marching Siege Machine and Ranged Troop Defense are increased by 104 percent
- Marching Siege Machine Attack is increased by 78 percent
How to increase the Thunderbird’s level
To improve the Thunderbird’s effects, you have to increase the beast’s level. The following are the best methods that you can use to increase the Thunderbird’s level:

In addition to increasing the Thunderbird’s level, you can smelt the beast. This method is more costly though, as you need Gems and Gold. Every time you smelt the Thunderbird, its quality and its buffs will improve.
Keep in mind that you need to procure Crimson Crystals to begin the smelting process for the Thunderbird.
Evony players can obtain Crimson Crystals from the Spiritual Beast Event Shop, however, you need to acquire Spiritual Beast Scales to purchase the Crystals.
