Gorn Hunter Systems

STFC players have to travel to specific systems to find the Gorn Hunters, however, their exact spawn locations are unknown.

A recent Star Trek Fleet Command update revealed that players are now able to encounter the Gorn Hunters as they travel through the vast galaxy.

These hostiles are composed of a strange material that is immune to generalized weaponry.

Similar to other enemies in STFC, the Gorn Hunters only spawn in specific systems. That being said, the level of the hostile determines the system in which it spawns.

Commanders have to decide which level of the Gorn Hunters they want to defeat and then travel to the corresponding systems.

Each of the systems have a minimum warp range requirement and if you do not meet the requirement, you will not be able to travel to the system.

Fortunately, there are numerous methods that you can use to increase your warp range.

According to the patch notes, you can find the Gorn Hunters in these systems:

Gorn Hunter level Systems
Level 40 to level 50
  • Pentasto
  • Heloderma
  • Dabio
  • Dendroa
Level 51 to level 60
  • Malaco
  • Varanus
  • Temminck
  • Cirriped
Level 60 to level 70
  • Trias
  • Juras
  • Cretac
  • Ophio
  • Pteros
  • Ioha

Each level range of the Gorn Hunters can be found in specific systems, but their exact spawn locations are undetermined.

There is a chance that you may have to search the systems for some time before you find a Gorn Hunter, while other Commanders can find a Gorn Hunter shortly after entering the system.

Which vessel should you use to defeat the Gorn Hunters?

Before you can travel to one of these systems to destroy the Gorn Hunters, you have to assign a crew to a vessel.

Players can essentially use any ship in their fleet to conquer the hostiles, however, we advise Commanders not to use Explorers.

This is because the Gorn Hunters’ abilities increase the amount of damage they deal by 100% for 5 rounds when fighting Explorers.

If you are uncertain about which vessel you should use to defeat them, we recommend that you select the strongest ship in your fleet.

The ship does not have a great influence on the outcome of the battle, but the crew that you use will determine whether you win the fight or not.

Which crew should you use?

As previously mentioned, the Gorn Hunters are immune to normal weapons and to Isolytic Damage. Commanders therefore have to use a crew combination that specializes in dealing Isolytic Damage.

We recommend that you use the following officers to vanquish the Gorn Hunters:

Officer Ability
Kathryn Janeway Bend the Rules: At the start of combat, she increases your Isolytic Cascade damage by 10% against non-player hostiles and Armadas.
SNW Nurse Chapel Protocol 12: She increases Isolytic Cascade damage by 5% when fighting non-Armada Hostiles.
Enterprise-E Data Saddle Up. Lock and Load: Increases Isolytic Cascade Damage by 10% versus non-Armada Hostiles.
Enterprise-E Picard We Used to Be Explorers: Increases Isolytic Cascade Damage by 3% for 3 rounds every time you hit a non-Armada hostile.

Isolytic Loop

The Gorn Hunters have joined the Isolytic Loop in STFC. If you defeat a Gorn Hunter, you will receive Volatile Isomatter, which can be exchanged at the Isolytic Refinery.

Players can therefore obtain officer Shards, Artifact Pieces and Grade Upgrade Materials by conquering Gorn Hunters.

Keep in mind that some items require more Volatile Isomatter than others. You are free to choose whether you want to stack your Volatile Isomatter to use it to procure less-valuable items.

On the official STFC Discord channel, several Commanders have revealed that defeating the Gorn Hunters to obtain Volatile Isomatter is no easy task.

We therefore recommend that you upgrade your fleet regularly to enhance their capabilities.
