Hogwarts Legacy: Do offspring grow?

Players can capture and breed magical beasts in Hogwarts Legacy, though the offspring will never reach full adulthood.

Hogwarts Legacy invites players to explore the well-renowned Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Although the game is based on the classic novels, it is set in the late 1800s. As you progress in the game, you will be able to capture several magical beasts, which you can then place in a vivarium.

Several players have bred their beasts successfully, but they are curious to know if the offspring will grow.

Beasts

There are a total of 13 beats to capture in Hogwarts Legacy, however, you have to complete a quest in order to capture a beast.

During the main quest, The Elf, the Nab-sack and the Loom, you will learn how to capture and care for magical beasts and in your vivariums.

In order to capture a beast successfully, you have to switch to your Nab-sack and use the associated key to begin the capturing process. Press the button that appears on the screen as the ring fills up until you have successfully tamed the beast.

Hogwarts Legacy: Do offspring grow?

When you have tamed and captured a magical beast, you can place it in a vivarium. Bear in mind that there are several vivariums, and it is advisable that you place the creature into a vivarium that will suit its needs.

After capturing a few beasts, you will notice that they provide you with the necessary apparatus for potions and upgrades. However, it is very likely that the beasts will breed. To breed a beast, you need a male and female beast of the same species.

Next, you have to place a breeding pen inside the vivarium and interact with the book in front of the breeding pen. The book will display which beasts can be bred. After commencing the breeding process, you have to wait 30 minutes to receive offspring.

Once the baby is born, you will be able take care of it. Now that you have a baby beast, you are probably wondering if beast offspring grow into adult beasts in the game.

Unfortunately, the offspring does not grow. This means that regrettably, you cannot use them as mounts as they will never reach full adulthood.

Although the offspring will not grow at this stage, there is a possibility that the developers will release an expansion pack at a later stage that will allow offspring to grow into adults.

That being said, you may have to purchase the expansion with real-life money if and when it becomes available in the future.

How to use offspring

Since the offspring does not grow, numerous players have been wondering how to use them. Even though they are babies, you can use them to produce resources that are required for certain potions.

Moreover, you can sell them at the Brood and Peck shop in Hogsmeade if you do not require additional resources.

Unfortunately, you can only use offspring for collecting resources or to sell them, since they have no other objective in Hogwarts Legacy.

If you have enough resources, it is recommended that you sell your offspring to receive in-game currency. But if you lack some resources, you can keep your offspring until you have procured enough resources.

Brood and Peck

Brood and Peck is a beast supply shop, which can be found on the northern part of Hogsmeade. The shop is only unlocked once you have completed Beast Classes.

The shop allows you to purchase beast materials in order to upgrade gear, but you can also sell your magical beasts if you no longer need them.
