MCoC’s Alliance War requires Alliances to compete against each other for rewards, however season 49 has been delayed.
You can enjoy various activities in Marvel Contest of Champions (MCoC). However, some activities, such as an Alliance War (AW) can only be enjoyed if you are part of an Alliance. During an AW, you have to compete against other Alliances to earn rich rewards.
The game’s developer, Kabam, recently announced that players will soon be able to enjoy Season 49 of Alliance War.
According to the announcement, the developer made some adjustments during Season 48 which were used to lay the groundwork for Season 49.
Kabam revealed that they have discovered a trend whereby Alliances rely on particularly stubborn, recent defenders, and this resulted in multiple copies being placed as defenders on a path.
Since this is unintended behavior and to further incentivize diverse paths, Kabam increased the potential points awarded for Defender Diversity.
This means that instead of getting 30 points per defender, you will receive 270 points per defender. Kabam also added 4 new Champions to MCoC in Season 48 and wanted to formally call it out in a Changelog.

Tactics
Before entering the new AW season, players should consider these Tactics:

When does AW Season 49 begin?
According to the initial AW Season 49 announcement, the event was supposed to commence on Wednesday, 24 April 2024.
However, the MCoC team recently announced that Alliance War Season 49 is delayed until Wednesday, 1 May 2024.
Allegedly, the MCoC team has been working diligently to resolve issues in AW stemming from Mastery Loadouts.
The team mentioned that it will continue to do so and should have Season 49 in good shape to begin on Wednesday, 1 May 2024.
Keep in mind, however, that this delay will likely result in the temporary disabling of the Alliance War Defense Checkbox.
Even though the new season of AW has been delayed, players can use the extra time to devise a strategy for how they are going to defeat their opponent and to earn the maximum number of rewards.
How to enlist for the Alliance War
Summoners should remember that only their Alliance leaders and Alliance officers can enlist their Alliance for an upcoming war.
If they do, your Alliance will be paired with another Alliance and when the war officially begins, you will have to defeat your opponent.
This unfortunately means that only Alliances whose Alliance leaders and officers have enlisted their Alliances in the War can enjoy the event.
Once your Alliance has been enlisted, your leader and officers will create different battlegroups which are used to determine which other players you are playing with.
You can strategize with your battlegroup about which Defenders and Attackers you are going to use to vanquish your opponent.
What to do when AW Season 49 begins
When the new season of AW begins on Wednesday, 1 May 2024, you have to place your defenders on the map for the opposing Alliance’s attackers to contend with.
Keep in mind that you have to coordinate with your team to maximize your placement potential.
Once it is your Alliance’s turn to attack, you have to use your strongest Champions to fight against your opponent’s Champions.
When Season 49 concludes, the final Rank your Alliance that you reach will determine which rewards you will receive.
Keep in mind that it is undetermined whether only players who participated in the AW will earn rewards or not.
