The Castling solo objective in MCoC requires Summoners to defeat Defense: Tank tagged Champions with Mutant Champions
In March 2024 Marvel Contest of Champions (MCoC) announced that Summoners can enjoy a new side quest known as the Vaults. This side quest consists of 2 maps, namely the Maze and the Vault, each of which has 5 Threat levels.
All Threat Levels are unlocked for all progression levels, and you can progress through paths on each map.
That being said, the game will release a new map weekly that you can complete to earn rewards. To enter the map, you have to complete solo activities to earn Maze Keys.
One of the solo objectives you can complete is Castling and it requires that you defeat Defense: Tank tagged Champions while using Mutant Champions in any game mode, excluding Practice Mode.
Summoners therefore have to defeat The Destroyer, The Serpent, Ant-Man (Future) and Hulk (Bahamet) to complete Castling. However, you can also conquer Absorbing Man, Nimrod, Hulkling or Onslaught to complete the objectives.
Unfortunately, you can only use Mutant tagged Champions to defeat them. Mutant is one of the six Champion Classes in MCoC. It has a Class Bonus to Skill, and it is weak to Tech and Combined Champions.
Since there are many Mutant Champions in MCoC, the chances are high that you have a few in your roster.
Some of the Mutant Champions that you can use include Beast, Cable, Domino, Gambit, Ice-Man, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Sabretooth and Wolverine.
Additional solo objectives
In addition to completing Castling, you can complete the following solo objectives to earn points for the new side quest:
Name | Description |
The Four Knights | Defeat Offense: Raw Damage tagged Champions while using Mystic Champions in any mode, excluding Practice Mode. |
The Queen’s Gambit | Summoners must defeat Female tagged Champions while using Mutant Champions in any mode, excluding Practice Mode. |
The King’s Defense | You have to destroy Kingpin and his Vault Guards, which includes Storm, Kindred and Lady Deathstrike. Players can only use Mystic Class Champions in any mode, except Practice Mode. |
Completing one of these solo objectives will reward you with 1 point, however, you need 3 points to earn a Maze Key.
The Maze
Once you have procured a Maze Key, you can complete Maze paths to earn rewards and a key to the Vault of corresponding threat levels. MCoC Summoners should note that Maze Keys are consumed when they enter the quest.
Vault keys, on the other hand, are used to open up a path, but they are not consumed unless the quest is completed. It is worth noting that there are only 16 Maze Keys available and there are 16 paths in the Vault of every Threat Level.
If you spend your Maze entries across multiple Threat Levels, you may miss out on full exploration rewards. We therefore recommend that you spend your Maze keys with caution so that you do not miss out on great rewards.
Rewards
For every threat level that you complete in the Maze, you will receive an abundance of rewards, but keep in mind that the rewards are scattered throughout the entire event period. You can therefore claim exciting rewards every week of the event.
The following table lists some of the rewards that you can earn by progressing through the Maze and Vault:
