MCoC players have to complete a series of solo objectives to earn the necessary keys to enter the new side quest map known as the Maze.
In addition to progressing through the main arc in Marvel Contest of Champions (MCoC), Summoners can enjoy a variety of side quests. The game’s developer, Kabam, recently introduced a new side quest, called Vaults.
According to the side quest’s description, you have to progress through 2 maps, namely, the Vault and the Maze, to recover stolen Mystically empowered artifacts. The Maze map has 5 difficulty levels which increase in difficulty.

This essentially means that Threat level 1 is much easier to complete than Threat level 5. We recommend that gamers progress through all Threat Levels to earn as many rewards as possible.
It is worth noting that all Threat levels are unlocked for all progression levels. The Maze contains 4 paths, each of which requires that you conquer specific enemies.
In order to enter the Maze, you have to earn Maze keys by completing a set of solo objectives. Every week a new string of solo objectives will be introduced, and each one will remain active until the conclusion of the event.
Once you have collected enough keys, you can enter the Maze and defeat the enemies to earn rewards. Summoners should remember that when you enter the Maze, it will consume a Maze Key.
Furthermore, the rewards that you earn are determined by the Threat Level that you completed.
Solo objectives
Players have to complete a series of solo objectives to earn Maze Keys. For every objective that you complete, you will earn 1 point, however, you need 3 points to earn a Key to enter the Maze.
The table below lists the objectives you can complete:
Name | Description |
Castling | Defeat Defense: Tank tagged Champions while using Mutant Champions in any mode, excluding Practice Mode |
The Four Knights | Summoners have to defeat Offense: Raw Damage tagged Champions while using Mystic Champions in any mode, except Practice Mode. |
The Queen’s Gambit | Players must conquer Female tagged Champions while using Mutant Champions in any game mode |
The King’s Defense | You have to use Mystic Class Champions to defeat Kingpin and his Vault Guards |
Requirements
Once you have obtained your Maze Keys, you can enter the map and choose which Champions you want to use. On the team creation menu, you will notice that you can only use Tech, Cosmic, Mystic and Science Champions.
It is unknown whether or not you have to use these specific Champions to complete the entire map, or only specific nodes. We therefore recommend that players check every node’s requirements before beginning the battle.
YouTuber, DrYuriusPapers2020, used Hulk, Hercules, Photon, Nimrod and Human Torch to complete Threat Level 5. That being said, you can use any Champions in your roster that meets the requirement to complete the level.
Enemies in The Maze
After choosing your Champions, you can enter the map, but you should bear in mind that one of your Maze Keys will be consumed when you enter the map.
There are 4 different paths that you can complete, however, each path requires that players defeat specific enemies.
The enemies that you have to conquer include Loki, Diablo, Guillotine and Magneto, among others.
Before you choose a path, Summoners can consider each node’s effects to determine how the battle will be influenced by a variety of buffs and debuffs.
After completing a Threat level, you will be able to enter the Vault, which also requires that you defeat specific opponents to earn rewards.
Rewards
For every Threat level you complete, you will receive a few thousand Mysterium as well as Hail to the King Crystal Shards. Summoners will also receive a Vault Key, which can be used to enter the other map of the side quest.
Keep in mind that the Vault Key you will get corresponds to the Threat Level you completed. This means that if you complete The Maze’s Threat Level 1, you will receive a Threat Level 1 Key for the Vault.
We therefore encourage players to progress through the Maze’s Threat Levels to earn keys to enter the Vault.
Although these items are not considered extremely rewarding, the rewards in the Vault can help you advance in MCoC. Players therefore have to progress through the Maze to enter the Vault to earn rich rewards.
