PSO2 NGS: Trunkul

The Trunkul weapon series is the new 8-star weapon in PSO2: NGS, and it is a rare drop from Seasonal Enemies.

In Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis (PSO2: NGS), gamers can join the Artificial Relict to Keep Species (ARKS) organisation. It is up to you to team up with a mysterious ally to defeat a powerful threat called the DOLLS.

To help you in this task, you can acquire a range of weapons. Sega, PSO2: NGS’ developer, recently announced that a new weapon series, Trunkul, is added to the game.

Can you use the same weapon forever?

When you first start playing PSO2: NGS, your character will be equipped with basic gear and weapons. This is because the enemies in the early game are not very strong. However, as you level up, the enemies will become more difficult to defeat.

Therefore, you have to upgrade your weapons regularly to ensure that you are able to vanquish the enemies on the world map. Players should note that all the weapons in the game have a star rating.

One-star weapons are perfect for the early game, but you will struggle to defeat enemies during the mid-game and endgame phase with a one star weapon. Therefore, you need to procure weapons with a higher star rating as you advance in the game.

PSO2 NGS: Trunkul

There are different weapon sets that you can get in PSO2: NGS, each of which has unique effects on your character. Sega recently announced that a new 8-star weapon set, namely, Trunkul, is now available for collection in PSO2: NGS.

Since it is an 8-star weapon, it can be assumed that the Trunkul weapon series is one of the best weapons. Hence, you can use it during the mid-game and end game phases of PSO2: NGS.

In order to procure a Trunkul weapon, you have to vanquish Seasonal Enemies during the Spring ‘23 event. However, you can also obtain it from Drill: Unidentified Region A16.

Bear in mind that the weapon is a rare drop, which means that you may have to defeat the enemies a few times to obtain it.

During Seasonal Events, such as Spring ‘23, unique enemy variants will occasionally spawn with modified designs and alternative weaknesses. These enemies drop Seasonal Points and additional rewards based on the season.

Keep in mind that the number of Seasonal Points obtained is determined by the type of enemy that you killed. The Drill quest, on the other hand, consists of 5 different ranks, each of which has specific battle power requirements.

This is because the enemies in each rank have specific levels. Since it can be difficult to complete this quest, you can team up with other players to complete it.

Seasonal Points Exchange Shop

To celebrate the Seasonal Event, a new, limited-time exchange shop has been added to the game. There are numerous items that you can get from the shop in exchange for Seasonal Points.

If you have collected many Seasonal Points, you can use them to procure a Trunkul weapon.

A Trunkul weapon costs approximately 10 000 Seasonal Points, so you have to defeat quite a few Seasonal Enemies to collect enough points. The table below lists other items that you can collect:

Item name Price
Spring ‘23 Scratch Ticket 1000 seasonal points
Gradient Heart Glasses 5 000 seasonal points
MTN: Idle-Rappy Plush 15 000 seasonal points
20 Star Gems 500 seasonal points

Trunkul’s potency

All the weapons in PSO2: NGS have specific potency effects, which can have a significant influence on your gameplay. Trunkul’s potency on various levels is as follows:

Level Effects
1
  • Potency is increased by 23 percent
  • Damage Resistance is increased by 0.5 percent upon critical hit, and it stacks up to 25 percent.
2
  • Potency is increased by 25 percent
  • Damage Resistance is increased by 0.5 percent upon critical hit, and it stacks up to 25 percent.
3
  • Potency is increased by 28 percent
  • Damage Resistance is increased by 0.5 percent upon critical hit, and it stacks up to 25 percent.
4
  • Potency is increased by 29 percent
  • Damage Resistance is increased by 0.5 percent upon critical hit, and it stacks up to 25 percent.

Is Trunkul worth it?

Based on Trunkul’s potential, it is clear that if you deal critical damage, players get 0.5 percent damage resistance and it continues to stack. However, several players want to know if this effect expires.

Allegedly, it does not expire unless you leave the room or change blocks. This means that the Trunkul is absolutely worth it if you are good at dealing critical damage, albeit a bit weaker than other 8-star weapons.
