STFC: Borg Probe Locations

The Borg Probe enemies in STFC can only be found in specific systems, and this is determined by their level.

As you explore the galaxy in Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC) you will encounter a variety of opponents, one of which is the Borg Probes. According to Star Trek Lore, the Borg is an alien group linked in a hive mind called “The Collective”.

The Borg transformed other alien species into drones by injecting nanoprobes into their bodies and surgically augmenting them with cybernetic components. STFC players can now vanquish the Borg Probes to acquire Nanoprobes.

Similar to other enemies in STFC, the Borg Probes are only found in specific systems. The systems in which the Borg Probe spawn are determined by their levels. This means that a level 58 Borg Probe and a level 26 Borg Probe will not be in the same system.

Commanders should therefore first determine which level Borg Probe they want to defeat before traveling to a system. Some of the systems in which you can find the Borg Probes are as follows:

Level Systems
26
  • Benes Beta
  • Benes Alpha
30
  • Roda Delta
36
  • Solus Daevun
40
  • Ru Serna
42
  • Frirab
44
  • Torvadyna
46
  • Moxidar
48
  • Cannz
50
  • Rhaela
52
  • Baley
54
  • Solus Ynestri
58
  • Jovia

It is noteworthy that all of these systems have warp range requirements. If you do not meet the minimum warp range, you will not be able to travel to these systems.

This is why there are different levels of Borg Probes as lower-level players will not be able to travel to Jovia to destroy a hostile.

Crew Recommendations

Although you can use any crew to defeat the Borg, we do  not recommended this as some crews will perform better than others.

The crew that we recommend you use depends on the level of the Borg Probes that you want to defeat.

If you are planning to vanquish a level 29 (or higher) Borg Cube, you can use Pike, Moreau and T’Laan, while other players can use Pike, Moreau and Chen:

Borg Probe Level Recommended crew
Up to and including level 28
  • Pike: He increases the effectiveness of all Officer Abilities that trigger in combat by 40%.
  • Moreau: She decreases hostiles’ armor piercing, shield piercing and accuracy by 30%.
  • Chen: She decreases the damage done by the hostiles’ energy weapons by 10%. This ability only functions against hostiles level 51 and lower.
Level 29 and higher
  • T’Laan: She decreases the damage done by a hostile’s Kinetic Weapons by 5%. This ability only activates when fighting enemies level 51 and lower.

Ship recommendations

Once you have chosen your crew, you need to assign it to a ship in your collection to travel to one of the above-mentioned systems.

Although you can use any ship, this is not recommended as some ships will outperform others against the Borg.

We recommend that you use either the Vi’dar or the Talios to take down the Borg Probes. Contrary to popular belief, the Borg Cube cannot be used to vanquish the Borg Probes from the galaxy.

Vi’dar

Players who have yet to construct the Vi’dar, will not be able to travel to the Borg Probe systems. This is because you can obtain 2 Transwarp cells on a daily basis once you have constructed it.

Players can use these cells to access the Borg systems, in which you can farm Nanoprobes.

It is worth noting that only players who have reached level 25 can start constructing the Vi’dar. Allegedly, you have to participate in Borg events and purchase its blueprints from the event store to add it to your fleet.

Once you have procured Inert Nanoprobes, you can refine them in your Borg Refinery. This will convert the Inert Nanoprobes into Charged Nanoprobes or Active Nanoprobes.

Players should note that these Nanoprobes have unique uses in STFC.

Nanoprobes

Borg Probes will drop Nanoprobes if they are defeated Players should remember that there are 2 different types of Nanoprobes that they can acquire:

Type Uses
Charged Nanoprobes Players can use these Nanoprobes to upgrade their Vi’Dar, though they can also be used to purchase faction reputation as well as credits.
Active Nanoprobes Commanders can use this type of Nanoprobe to promote their Borg officers.
