STFC’s recent update introduced SNW M’Benga, who specializes in increasing all mitigation statistics against non-Armada hostiles.
On Tuesday, 9 April 2024, Scopely released a major update for Star Trek Fleet Command
. Update 65, which is the first part of the Gorn Invasion, introduced a new building, new Gorn Hunter hostiles, new Officers, new Missions, as well as new Refits, Forbidden Tech and Artifacts.
According to the patch notes, three new officers have joined the ranks and are filling out more of the SNW crews in STFC.
One of the officers that you can acquire is Epic SNW M’Benga. According to Star Trek lore, M’Benga is the Chief Medical Officer aboard the USS Enterprise.
He is considered one of the Starfleet’s most skilled physicians as his knowledge encompasses much of the Federation.
To celebrate M’Benga’s arrival in STFC, Scopely hosted a limited-time event which gave players the opportunity to add him to their officer collection.
This event began on Saturday, 22 April 2024 and it concluded on Monday, 22 April 2024. During this time, you had to spend G3 or higher Materials. Alternatively, you had to Spend Regular, Solo and Xindi Armada Directives to earn points.
Once you have obtained a specific number of points, you received M’Benga shards. Commanders who have enough character shards can compose them to add M’Benga to their officer collection.
You can then assign M’Benga to one of your vessels and use his abilities to vanquish enemies from the galaxy.
M’Benga’s abilities
Similar to other officers in STFC, M’Benga has a wide range of skills that you can use to your advantage. The following table lists his abilities with a description of each:
Type | Name | Description |
Captain Ability | Butcher of J’Gal | He increases all mitigation statistics by 1500% of officer health when fighting non-Armada hostiles. |
Officer ability | Fight for Peace | M’Benga increases SHP every round by 2%, however, at rank 5, it is increased by 15%. This ability only activates when you are fighting non-Armada enemies. |
Below Deck ability | Not applicable | M’Benga does not have a below-deck ability. You will therefore receive no additional bonus for assigning him to this position. |
M’Benga promo code
In update 65’s patch notes, it was revealed that players can use a specific promo code to get 5 M’Benga shards for free. Unfortunately, only players level 20 and higher are able to use this promo code to earn the shards.
To redeem any promo code, you have to open STFC’s official website and click on the “Redeem” icon. You may have to log into your Scopely account before you are able to redeem a promo code.
The promo code is “JGAL” and if you enter it into the text box, you will receive the free shards.
Since the code expired on Friday, 19 April 2024, you can no longer use the promo code and earn the free shards.
As previously mentioned, the event that gave gamers the opportunity to collect M’Benga’s shards has also concluded.
Unfortunately, it is unknown whether or not players will be able to add M’Benga to their officer collection without spending real money.
Crew recommendations
Although you can assign M’Benga with a randomly selected crew to any ship, this is not recommended. This is because some officers will enhance M’Benga’s abilities while others will make them less effective.
According to STFC. Space, M’Benga has synergy with other SNW Officers. We therefore advise Commanders to use the following officers to create a crew:
- SNW Christopher Pike
- SNW Spock
- SNW Una Chin-Riley
- SNW Nyota Uhura
- SNW Erica Ortegas
- SNW Hemmer
- SNW Nurse Chapel
- SNW Sam Kirk
There are numerous crew combinations that you can create out of these officers. We recommend that you experiment with different crews to see which crew is the perfect combination for M’Benga.
Can you use M’Benga for PvE and PvP?
Some officers in STFC can only be used in player-versus-environment modes, while others specialize in the player-versus-player mode.
On the official Discord server, several Commanders have been curious about which mode they should use M’Benga in.
When looking at his Captain’s Ability, he increases all mitigation statistics by 1500% of officer health when fighting non-Armada hostiles.
This is a clear indication that you should only use M’Benga for player-versus-environment mode.
