Destiny 2: Deep Dive Tier 5

Destiny 2 players can unlock tier-5 Deep Dive rewards by interacting with the Toland in the second encounter.

Set in a mythic science fiction world, Destiny 2 features a multiplayer shared environment with elements of role-playing and combat. In addition to following the main arc, you can enjoy strikes, dungeons and raids.

One of the activities that you can enjoy is Deep Dive, however, you have to complete specific activities to unlock tier 5 rewards.

Deep Dive

Deep Dive is a new Destiny 2 activity introduced with the latest season, Season of the Deep. This seasonal activity sends players into the methane ocean of Titan to procure the power that Sloane requires to connect with Ahsa.

Players can descend deeper as they progress through the activity. The further you manage to travel during the Deep Dive activity, the greater your rewards will be.

Keep in mind that this activity is time-limited, which means that the rewards you earn are determined by the number of encounters you successfully complete before the time runs out.

Destiny 2: Deep Dive Tier 5

In addition to earning rewards for completing the Deep Dive activity, players can receive rewards for completing various tiers. There are several reward tiers that you can acquire, though each tier requires that players complete a specific task or objective.

Before beginning tier-5’s challenge, it is advisable that you acquire the Dive Station Vendor Upgrade.

This upgrade spawns an ammo crate containing special and heavy ammo at a random location in each depth in the Deep Dive activity. Upon opening the crate, you will also receive additional objective time.

To receive tier-5 rewards, you either have to begin the Deep Dive activity solo or with other Guardians. During the first encounter, you have to find the Toland, and everybody in a Fireteam has to interact with the orb.

Players then have to defeat the 4 Blights in the room, or stand the lights before completing the actual encounter. It is crucial that you complete the mini-event before the room’s encounter.

After completing the encounter, a wave of enemies will appear, and they have to be vanquished before the time runs out.

If you kill all the enemies, you will unlock a triumph and tier-3 rewards, however,  you have to follow the Deep Dive until you arrive at the next large area to receive tier-5 rewards. After accepting Ahsa’s blessing, you have to repeat your actions.

Players must start the event, find a Toland, complete the mini-event and complete everything together within the time limit.

If you defeat the final boss before the time runs out, you will receive a notification on the left side of the screen that indicates that you have received tier-5 rewards.

Why are you unable to unlock tier-5 rewards?

On a Reddit forum, some players have revealed that they are unable to unlock tier-5 rewards even if they complete the activity within the time limit.

It is imperative that you interact with the Toland in the second big area to activate the tier-5 rewards.

If you complete the second encounter without activating the Toland and completing the mini event, you will not receive tier-5 rewards. You should also ensure that your entire team interacts with the Toland, otherwise you will not unlock tier-5.

Keep in mind that you will not receive tier-5 rewards if you did not complete the mini event and the encounter within the time limit.

Rewards

If you open the tier-5 chests at the end of the activity, you will receive rich rewards. However YouTuber Reddi41 revealed that players can receive greater rewards if they use their Deep Dive Keys.

According to him, the rewards are not worth it if you do not use your Deep Dive Keys. We therefore recommend that you farm Deep Dive Keys before attempting to complete Deep Dive tier-5.

Players can procure Deep Dive Keys by completing ritual playlist activities and by ranking up the Season Pass vendor in the H.E.L.M.

The Deep Dive Keys are automatically redeemed when you open the Deep Chest at the end of a Deep Dive activity.

Is Deep Dive tier-5 more difficult than other tiers?

On a Reddit thread, one player revealed that tier-5 Deep Dive seems ridiculously difficult for a match-made activity. One player said, “I think it is well balanced. Has a bit of Heft to it, but this is how I would like seasonal content to feel.”

Destiny 2 players whose power levels are a bit low, may struggle to complete tier-5 Deep Dive. We therefore recommend that you increase your power level before attempting the activity.

Alternatively, you can team up with Guardians whose power level is higher than yours to complete it.
