Since 81 Poise is the optimal breakpoint for PvP in Elden Ring, players now want to know which sets they can use to achieve it.
Elden Ring allows players to freely explore the Lands Between and its six main areas. Although the main mode of the game is player-versus-environment, you can defeat other players in the player-versus-player game mode.
One of the recent updates revealed that the optimal breakpoint for PvP is 81 Poise.
Elden Ring: 81 Poise
Poise is a base statistic in Elden Ring, and it can be increased by wearing armour. One of the recent Elden Ring updates revealed that the optimal breakpoint for PvP is 81 Poise.
Simply put, the armour that you equip should not increase your Poise to more than 81 if you want to be successful in PvP.
Ideally, you want less than 81 Poise when you are defeating other players. On a Reddit forum, one player said that the lowest weight combination he constructed reached 45.6 Poise.
He equipped the Crucible Helm and Armour along with the Fire Prelate gauntlets and greaves. However, there are other combinations that you can use to reach exactly 81 Poise:
- Without the Bull-Goat’s Talisman: Omen, Tree Sentinel, Crucible and Zamor
- With the Bull-Goat’s Talisman: Fingerprint (altered), Tree Sentinel and Omensmirk Mask
Where to acquire the armour
The table below lists where you can find the armour:
Name | How to acquire |
Bull-Goat’s Talisman | You can find it in the back of Dragonbarrow Cave |
Omen Set | It can be found after killing the Dung Eater in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds |
Tree Sentinel Set | Obtainable from inside Auriza Hero’s Grave |
Crucible Tree Set | The entire set can be found in a chest within Deeproot Depths |
Zamor Set | You have to defeat the Ancient Hero of Zamor Boss |
Fingerprint (altered) | After completing Boc’s Questline, you can alter Fingerprint Armor into Fingerprint Armor (altered) |
Omensmirk Mask | Dropped by a lesser Omenkiller outside the Lower Capital Church |

How to join PvP in Elden Ring
You can only enter PvP in Elden Ring by 2 means: by invading another player who is in a co-op session or by being invited into another player’s world via a PvP summon item.
PvP requires unique gear and weapons as it functions differently than PvE, thus, you should prepare accordingly before joining PvP.
