Evony Monarchs are now able to assign their Legendary Historic Generals to their Council of State’s Senate to unlock troop bonuses.
Evony: The King’s Return is a thrilling mobile game which invites players to collect Historic and Non-Historic Generals.
You can assign your Generals to your Council of State’s Senate feature to unlock a variety of bonuses and buffs for your army.
To be appointed to a Senate position, a General must have at least 5 stars, but if you have Ascended them past this then you will receive additional buffs for every level of Ascension that you have gained.
Before, Monarchs were only able to ascend Generals with a red border in the Portrait menu of the Tavern building.
There are therefore numerous Generals that you can Ascend and assign to a Senate position to earn a variety of buffs and rewards.
However, Evony recently released an in-game announcement which revealed that General Ascension is now available for 3 Legendary Historic Generals, namely Cleopatra, Joan of Arc and Miyamoto Musashi.

These Legendary Generals do not have Red borders in the Portrait menu, however, they can now be Ascended and assigned to a Senate position in your Council of State building.
Ascending a Red Portrait General requires Blood of Ares, but Ascending Legendary Historic Generals does not consume the Blood of Ares in your inventory.
That being said, the Ascension still requires a specific number of Historic General Token Fragments to ascend the corresponding Legendary Historic General.
The announcement also revealed that although there are only 3 Legendary Historic Generals available for Ascension, additional Legendary Historic Generals will be added in the near future.
We therefore recommend that you check the in-game mail regularly to see which additional Legendary Historic Generals will become available for Ascension.
Senate Buffs
If you assign a General to a Senate position, you will get a variety of buffs.
The following table lists the buffs that you will receive if you assign General Trajan to a position:
Star level | Buffs |
5-star (Yellow) | Marching ground troop defense is increased by 4% |
1-star (Red) | In-City Ranged Troop HP increased by 8% |
2-star (Red) | In-City Siege Machine Defense increased by 10% |
3-star (Red) | Marching Ground Troop Attack increased by 4% |
4-star (Red) | In-City Troop HP increased by 6% |
5-star (Red) | Ground Troop Attack increased by 10% |
Why does it not consume Blood of Ares?
Although Ascending a Legendary Historic General does not consume Blood of Ares, it still consumes the necessary Historic General Fragments to ascend the corresponding General.
Several players believe that Ascending a Historic General is Evony’s first phase to remove Blood of Ares from the game.
Other Monarchs believe that Evony wants to reduce the amount of Blood of Ares required to Ascend a General.
Keep in mind that these are all only player theories and Evony has yet to announce why Ascending a Legendary Historic General does not require Blood of Ares.
Players should therefore check the game announcements regularly for official information regarding Blood of Ares.
General Fragments
Although you do not have to use Blood of Ares to Ascend one of the Legendary Historic Generals, you need to acquire General Fragments.
In order to obtain General Fragments, you have to Perfectly Dismiss duplicate Generals in your collection. This essentially means that you need more than 1 copy of the same General.
Players should note that this process costs approximately 10 000 Gems, but you will receive 30 fragments of that General in return.
Monarchs therefore have to acquire duplicate Generals of Cleopatra, Joan of Arc and Miyamoto Musashi, before they can be Ascended.
When you have Ascended your Legendary Historic Generals, you can assign them to your Council of State’s Senate to unlock additional buffs and bonuses.
Council of State
In order to unlock additional buffs with a Legendary Historic General, you need to construct your Council of State building. However, this building only unlocks when you reach level 32.
The Senate consists of different titles that a General can be appointed to, but gamers should keep in mind that each title has 4 unique positions within it for each of the troop types.
In simple terms, Miyamoto Musashi specializes in Ground Troops and therefore you have to assign him to the Ground Troop position in the Senate to unlock additional buffs.
Evony players will unlock additional positions as they upgrade the building’s level.
