MCoC: Raids

MCoC Alliances can now test their battlegroups’ capabilities by progressing through Raids that require you to vanquish several bosses.

In December 2023 Marvel Contest of Champions (MCoC) announced that January 2024 is your first opportunity to experience Raids with your Alliance. Raids are a week-long cooperative quest that you can enjoy once a month.

Alliances must enlist in advance for the Raid Week and the leader of the battlegroup has to select the Raid icon to choose a Raid Map for their battlegroup.

To enter the Raid Map, you need approximately 180 Raid Tickets, which can be purchased in the Team Select Screen.

Before you enter a Raid, you have to decide  which characters you want to use in the raid. Since there are 3 lanes of bosses, you have to split up into 3 groups, each of which consists of a Tactician, Vanguard and Assault, but you also need a reserve player.

The Roles support one another once you start building up Role Charges. The main objective is to gather as many charges as possible so that your team members can maximize the amount of damage they deal in their fights.

When you enter the Raid Map, you will find a Choice Node and it contains icons for each Role. Summoners have to match that role with their chosen champion role. If you do not do so, the abilities gained from these buffs will not work with your champion.

Players can select the Boost that best suits their champion’s abilities, but keep in mind that each boost has a unique effect on your character.

Boosts

There are 3 Boosts that each Role can choose from, but we recommend that you consider your champion’s abilities before selecting the boost:

Role Boosts
Tactician
  • Null Break: For every Armor Break Debuff that is active on the Defender, you will receive increased Raid Fervor
  • Unparalleled Buffs: Increased Raid Fervor is gained for every Unique Buff on the Attacker.
  • Super Buffs: For every Buff active on the Attacker, you will get increased Raid Fervor.
Assault
  • DOT Boost: If there are Debilitate or Damaging effects active on the Defender, you will receive an increased Raid Fervor.
  • Crit Crusher: For every Precision active on the Attacker, your Raid Fervor is increased by 6.
  • Prowess Ender: Increases any Raid Fervor gained from Missions by 6 for every Prowess active on the Attacker.
Vanguard
  • Shield Smasher: Increases any Raid Fervor gained from missions by 6 for every Armor Break Debuff active on Defender.
  • Weak Spot: Increases any Raid Fervor gained from missions by 6 for each Weakness or Taunt debuff active on the Defender.
  • Critical Armor: Your Raid Fervor will be increased by 6 every time the Armor Up Buff is active.

Boss Fights and Role Charges

There are various boss fights that you will have to survive as you progress through the raid map.

Keep in mind that you will have to organize the order in which you will be fighting. This will only matter for the first few fights while your team is building Role charges.

The battlegroup has to ensure that everyone has charges and that you are building the charges fairly evenly.

If you are above 10 of any charge, it will no longer grant more damage, however, it is still required for that role to access Role Force. Every stack will increase your damage on all attacks, but Role Force will only work if Role Charges for your role are active.

Summoners will have to repeat this process for every boss and then come together to defeat the Final Ultron boss as a group.

Missions

Every boss that you have to defeat will have a mission that you have to complete. If you complete a mission you will receive Role Charges, which your battlegroup will use to increase their damage when they enter a fight.

The table below lists some of the bosses and their missions:

Boss Mission
Kang Attacks must alternate their Combo Ender between Light and Medium attacks. Every time this is performed successfully you will gain Raid Fervor.
Maestro The battlegroup has to punish Defenders Heavy or Special Attack. Every time this happens, you will gain Raid Fervor.
Ultron Whenever the attacker hits the Defender with a different special attack than the last, you will gain Role Fervor.
