The PSO2: NGS August 2023 Update introduced the new 8-star Armor Set, Octo for players to acquire by completing the Leciel Exploration or by collecting Growthment.
In this adventurous video game, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis (PSO2: NGS), players can explore the fictional world of Halpha. As you advance in the game, you have to upgrade your armor regularly to slay the DOLLS.
One of the armor sets that you can acquire is the 8-star Octo Armor series.
PSO2 NGS: Octo Armor
PSO2: NGS’s developer, Sega, recently announced the August 2023 update, which introduced many new features.
Players can now continue their main story adventure by completing part 2 of Chapter 6 and you can complete a new Standing Quest, Leciel Exploration, among others.
Progressing in the Standing Quest gives you a chance at looting the new 8-star Octo Armor series. Unfortunately, not many details have been released about the armor, however, we do know that its defense statistic is 42.
It is worth noting that only players level 72 and higher can equip the Octo Armor on their character. If you are yet to reach level 72, you should focus on procuring the armor sets that correspond to your current level.
Furthermore, the Octo Armor set has the following properties:

| Technique | Increased by 4.5 percent |
Growthment
The August 2023 update also revealed that gamers can farm a new item called Growthment. To get this item, you have to participate in the new Standing Quest, Leciel Exploration.
Once you have this item, you can go to any main city and engage with the Exchange Item NPC.
The NPC features a new exchange shop which allows you to exchange your Growthment for items like the new Octo Armor.
Keep in mind that the base Octo Armor requires 50 Growthment, while the Octo Armor with Fixa Guard Level 1 requires 300 Growthment.
Leciel Exploration
Leciel Exploration is a new, exciting dungeon-like activity that up to 8 players can enjoy. This activity contains different sectors, each with unique challenges.
You may therefore have to slay specific enemies or complete a puzzle to move on to the following sector.
You only have 6 minutes to complete each sector’s challenge. While you progress in Leciel Exploration, you could also loot the Octo Armor.
Should you purchase the Fixa Guard Octo Armor?
It is clear that the Octo Armor with Fixa Guard Level 1 is much more expensive than the regular Octo Armor. A level 1 Fixa Guard increases your damage resistance by 1 percent, which can have a significant impact on your gameplay.
Though several PSO2: NGS players feel that the Fixa Guard Octo Armor is not worth farming 300 Growthment for.
The choice to purchase the Fixa Guard Octo Armor, or the base Octo Armor is ultimately yours, as you need to invest time to collect the Growthment.
