The Borg Unicomplex is a new hostile type introduced with STFC’s update 57, however, it can only be summoned in specific systems.
You can test your tactical abilities in this adventurous video game, Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC).
As you progress in the game, you may encounter a variety of hostiles. A recent STFC update introduced a new enemy species called the Borg Unicomplex.
STFC: Borg Unicomplex
On Tuesday, 8 August 2023, STFC released the patch notes for update 57, otherwise known as Voyager part 4.
This update introduces the next step-up in Formation Armada difficulty by delivering new Rare opponents in 5 new systems being uncovered in August 2023.
These new targets are not Species 8472, they are the Borg. The Delta Quadrant is expanding its boundaries as a new enemy lurks around; the Borg Unicomplex, the evil represented by the new Rare Formation Armadas.
Commanders levels 38 and above can join forces and rally against the Rare Formation Armandas. You have to follow the mission chain that invites you to explore the new sector in order to have your first Rare Formation Armada fight.
Keep in mind that your first Borg Unicomplex fight will be against a level-31 enemy, but the enemy’s level will increase as you progress in the new mission chain.
Borg Unicomplex systems
Some foes, such as the Borg Unicomplex, can only be found in specific systems in STFC. If you are looking for these Rare Formation Armadas, you should travel to the following systems:
System | Level |
Samarklew | 35 |
Larrios | 38 |
Ronkel | 41 |
Michfort | 46 |
Johlan | 51 |
Andracona | 56 |
Gareilly | 60 |
Players should note that each of these systems has a warp range requirement and if your warp range is too low, you will not be able to travel to that system.
It is therefore advisable that you first travel to Samarklew, which allegedly has the lowest warp range requirement of all the systems.

How to summon the Borg Unicomplex
When you arrive in one of the above-mentioned systems, you need to summon a Borg Unicomplex to fight it.
The Rare Formation Armadas require Rare Directives to be summoned. STFC players can get these Directives through the 7-day chest rewards.
However you can also purchase the directives from the “Offers” tab. It is noteworthy, though, that you need to spend real money to purchase the Rare Directives from the “Offers” tab.
Rewards
Once you have successfully defeated a Borg Unicomplex, you will receive rich rewards. You will earn Artifact tokens, Artifact shards as well as Complex Nanotech.
This new currency can be used for claiming chests which contain a variety of items, including new officer shards, Isolytic artifacts, tokens and rare skill points.
