STFC: Isolytic Damage Crew

The Gorn Hunters in STFC can only be defeated by an Isolytic Damage Crew, therefore, you should use Kathryn Janeway, Enterprise-E Data and Enterprise-E Picard.

As you advance in Star Trek Fleet Command, you will notice that there are different types of damage, one of which is Isolytic Damage. This damage type operates alongside standard damage rather than replacing it.

With every shot that you fire, Isolytic Damage is dealt in addition to regular standard damage. It is calculated as a percentage of your overall standard damage, considering all applied buffs, rather than just the base weapon damage.

A recent STFC update introduced the Gorn hostiles, and they are unlike any other opponents in the game. This is because they are immune to conventional weapons, but they are vulnerable to isolytic weaponry.

To vanquish them from the galaxy, you have to use a crew that can deal Isolytic Damage. This essentially means that there are only a few Officers that you can use to be successful in a fight against the Gorn Hunters.

We recommend that players use Kathryn Janeway, Enterprise-E Data and Enterprise-E Picard to defeat them.

As for the below deck officers, you can use Torres, Neelix and Kim, but keep in mind that this combination depends on the ship that you use to trigger the Artifact.

Which ship should you use?

Now that you have the Isolytic Damage crew, you may be wondering which vessel you should use against the Gorn Hunters.

It is believed that you can use any ship to conquer them, however, we suggest that you use the strongest ship in your fleet.

That being said, we do not recommend that Commanders use any Explorer-type ships to destroy the Gorn.

This is because the Gorn’s ability increases their damage by 50 percent for 5 rounds when they are fighting any Explorer ships.

Where to find the Gorn

When you have assigned your crew to a ship, you have to travel to certain systems to find the Gorn Hunters. According to the patch notes, you can find the enemies in these systems:

Gorn level Systems
40-50
  • Pentasto
  • Heloderma
  • Daboia
  • Dendroa
51-60
  • Malaco
  • Varanus
  • Teminch
  • Cirriped
60-70
  • Trias
  • Juras
  • Cretac
  • Ophio
  • Pteros
  • Rioha

STFC gamers should remember that these systems all have specific warp requirements and if your warp range is too low, you will not be able to travel to the systems.

Rewards

If you defeat a Gorn enemy, you will receive an abundance of rewards, however, the most valuable reward is Volatile Isomatter.

Commanders can exchange this resource in the Isolytic Refinery for Officer Shards, Artifact Pieces and Grade Upgrade Materials. Some items require more Volatile Isomatter than others.
