STFC: Unlock Isolytic Damage

To unlock Isolytic Damage in STFC, you have to assign specific Officers and Artifacts to your vessels.

In order to defeat hostiles in Star Trek Fleet Command, you need to increase the damage that you deal to them.

The stronger the enemy is, the more damage is required to vanquish them from the galaxy. In addition to dealing normal damage, players can deal Isolytic Damage.

Isolytic Damage is calculated as a percentage of your overall standard damage, considering all applied buffs, rather than just the base weapon damage.

This damage type can be acquired in several ways. Commanders can get Isolytic Damage by collecting Officers and Artifacts.

Obtaining Isolytic Damage follows a similar process to acquiring other buffs in STFC. This essentially means that once players inflict Isolytic Damage, it will remain active under the same circumstances as any other buffs.

This means that Isolytic Officers will remain active while aboard your ship, while Isolytic Artifacts will remain active at all times after they are unlocked.

To increase the amount of Isolytic Damage you deal, you have to upgrade your Artifacts on a regular basis.

You can also promote and increase your Isolytic Officers’ levels to increase the amount of Isolytic Damage you deal.

Tarka’s Isolytic Damage

A recent STFC update introduced a new Forbidden Tech named Tarka’s Isolytic Damage. Players can use this Forbidden Tech to increase their base Isolytic Damage when fighting Gorn Hunters.

It also increases your base Hull Health for all ships and Isolytic Defense as well as Damage when you are fighting a hostile.

At the moment of writing, Tarka’s Isolytic Damage has yet to be released. Several Commanders believe that this Forbidden Tech can only be obtained by purchasing it with real money.

Free-to-play players will therefore not be able to use this Tech to their advantage.

Isolytic Damage Crew

To increase the amount of Isolytic Damage you deal, you have to use specific Officers. The only Officers with the ability to increase Isolytic Damage are Kathryn Janeway, Enterprise-E Picard and Enterprise-E Data.

However, update 65 introduced Rare SNW Nurse Chapel and her Below Deck Ability, Protocol 12, increases Isolytic Damage against hostiles.

Unfortunately, she can only be purchased with real money, but it is not mandatory to purchase her as Janeway, Picard and Data can be obtained for free.

Do you have to use Isolytic Damage?

Although players can progress in STFC without using Isolytic Damage, you will be forced to use it at some point in the game.

Update 65 introduced the Gorn Hunters, which are immune to normal damage. Commanders therefore have to use Isolytic Damage to vanquish them from the galaxy.
