STFC players can open Warchests to earn Seals of Ko’tal, which can be used to unlock the new exclusive Warchest Research Node.
Star Trek Fleet Command recently added a new building, the War Room, to the game, though only players level 20 and higher can construct it.
After building the War Room, you can collaborate with your Alliance to engage in a weekly player-versus-player event to accumulate points.
The more Alliance Members participate in the event, the quicker you will earn points. Once the Alliance has earned enough points, you will earn a War Key, which can be used to unlock a Warchest.
The Warchest contains a variety of rewards, however, the most valuable reward is Seals of Ko’tal. Seals of Ko’tal can be used to unlock the Warchest Research Node, Tactical Warmonger.
Unfortunately, only 1 Warchest Research node has been released, but several Commanders believe that Scopely will introduce additional research nodes in the near future.
Commanders level 25 and higher can unlock the new Tactical Warmonger node in the Combat Tree of the Research menu.
When you have completed the research, you will increase the amount of base Weapon Damage that you deal other players.
The Warchest Research Node will therefore help you defeat other players, which essentially means that you will accumulate points faster.
Seals of Ko’tal
Commanders will only receive 1 Seal of Ko’tal for every PvP event that they engage in. Allegedly, you need 100 Seals to unlock the new Warchest Research Node.
This means that you have to participate in 100 PvP events to get enough Seals to research the node.
That being said, you can purchase additional Seals with real money if you are interested in unlocking Tactical Warmonger quicker.
Tactical Warmonger levels
Similar to other nodes in the research menu, the Tactical Warmonger node has different levels. With every level, its effects will increase.
We therefore recommend that STFC Commanders regularly increase their Tactical Warmonger’s level to gain more buffs.
The Tactical Warmonger’s effects for every level are outlined below:

Upgrading the War Room
Even though there is only 1 Warchest Research Node at the moment, you can still upgrade your War Room to increase the amount of rewards you earn by opening a Warchest.
Keep in mind, however, that the rewards only increase for every 5 levels. This means that the rewards that you earn when you are level 26 will be much more than the levels you obtained when you were level 21.
The rewards that you can earn by opening a Warchest include resources, ship parts, materials, Emblems of Honor and the Seals of Ko’tal.
