Destiny 2: Wicked Implement

Wicked Implement is an Exotic Scout Rifle in Destiny 2, which is only set for launch during week 10 of the season  in July 2023.

Destiny 2 is an exploratory video game that takes place in the fictional world of Sol, in which you can assume the role of a Guardian.

It is up to you to protect the planet’s last safe city from horrifying foes. To assist you with this task, you can acquire various weapons, one of which is the Wicked Implement.

Season of the Deep

Destiny 2’s 21st season, Season of the Deep commenced on 23 May 2023 and players have until 22 August 2023 to enjoy its content.

The main arc, Into the Abyss, reveals that Titan’s ocean floor is teeming with Hive and Taken, and they are searching for something at the bottom of the ocean.

You can follow them into the deep to discover ancient secrets and to learn more about the Witness’s Origins. The new season added many new activities to the game, including a new matchmade activity called Salvage.

Players can also complete a new weekly mission – Deep Dives – and catch rare fish in the new fishing feature.

Destiny 2: Wicked Implement

As you progress through  Season of the Deep, you can procure new gear pieces and weapons. One of the new weapons you can acquire is the Wicked Implement, which is an Exotic Scout Rifle.

The Wicked Implement is a new Stasis rifle, which means that its abilities involve slowing targets. In order to get this weapon, you have to complete the Wicked Depths Triumph, which requires that players complete the Whetstone encounter in Deep Dives.

At the time of writing this, the Whetstone encounter is inaccessible, and players have to complete the first few encounters of the Deep Dive activity to access the Whetstone encounter when it becomes available.

Several players believe that this encounter will only become available once they have completed specific objectives during a Deep Dive, but this is yet to be confirmed.

According to some sources, the Wicked Depths Triumph will only become available in week 10 of Season of the Deep.

This should occur on 25 July 2023. Since the information about this triumph is limited, Destiny 2 players believe that this is likely when the Whetstone encounter will become available.

In other words, you will only be able to procure the Wicked Implement rifle in July 2023. However, there is a possibility that the details of the weapon and the triumph can change.

Players should therefore keep an eye on official sources to keep abreast of the latest information.

Wicked Implement Perks

Unfortunately, the Wicked Implement perks are still undetermined, but players have shared their thoughts and opinions on the matter.

According to Redrix, one of its perks will be the ability to slow and freeze enemies when the user deals a headshot with the rifle.

While another Destiny 2 player believes that collecting Stasis Shards gradually overflows the magazine with the Exotic Catalyst perk.

Furthermore, it is speculated that the weapon will have Exotic Traits, which means that precision final blows while Creeping Attrition is active creates a Stasis shard that returns to you.

Deep Dives

Deep Dives invite players to dive deeper into Titan’s ocean to get the power needed to communicate with this mysterious creature that you have discovered. To start this activity, you have to open the H.E.L.M director and select the Deep Dive option.

Keep in mind that it can either be completed solo or in a team with other Guardians. The rewards upon completion remain the same, regardless of whether you completed the activity alone or with friends.

If it is your first time attempting Deep Dives, we recommend that you complete it with friends until you understand the mechanics.

Whetstone encounter

It is currently unknown what the Whetstone encounter entails, but Destiny 2 players believe that it will follow the same pattern as the other Deep Dive encounters.

This means that you are likely to dive deeper into the ocean to destroy Taken Blights while being imbued with Ahsa – Sloane’s whale-like friend.

We already know that the first 2 depth levels are Midnight and Abyss, however, we are uncertain how many depth levels you have to explore to reach the Whetstone encounter.

Since the encounter is only set to launch in July 2023, players should focus on completing the other Deep Dive encounters and discovering all their secrets.
