It is up to you to build your empire from scratch by completing quests, slaying monsters, procuring resources and training troops. As you progress in Evony, you will discover countless items, one of which is Merit Jade.
Council of State
Evony recently got a major update which introduced numerous new features and buildings. One of the new buildings that you can construct in your kingdom is the Council of State.
It allows players to manage their military and political affairs by appointing Generals to military titles. As you assign Generals to the various titles, you will receive a variety of bonuses.
Players can upgrade the Generals assigned to the Council of State to unlock additional buffs. However, to upgrade the position of a General, you must acquire Merit Jade.
Evony: Merit Jade
Players can acquire many items as they advance in Evony, however, you should remember that every item that you collect serves a specific purpose in the game.
The recent update not only introduced new buildings, but it also added some new items for gamers to collect.
One of these new items is the Merit Jade. Its description reads, “An award given for significant achievements on the battlefield. Necessary material to increase the position level in the Senate.”
Most of the items that you can acquire in Evony can be farmed easily, but this is not the case with Merit Jades. Players have to defeat powerful enemies on the world map for a chance to receive a Merit Jade.
In simple terms, there is no guarantee that you will receive a Merit Jade after vanquishing an enemy. It can therefore take some time to farm large quantities of the item.
We recommend that you invest the time to farm Merit Jade as it is the only item that you can use to upgrade the position of your Generals in your Council of State building.
Although some players have decided not to invest in the Council of State, it is advisable that you do, even if it takes some time.
This is because the Council of State offers unique bonuses and buffs that can influence your gameplay substantially.
Which enemies drop Merit Jade?
There is a chance that players can obtain Merit Jade by killing any event monster, though this excludes the World Boss and Vikings above 200 million power.

Evony players should consider the boss monster’s power level and their own power level before deciding which enemy to attack.
It is advisable that you start with the Phoenix, even if your power level is higher. If you attack a lower-level enemy, the chances of you slaying the beast are higher and the battle will go quicker.
How many Merit Jades can you acquire daily?
Remember that you can only get up to 15 Merit Jades daily by defeating monsters. However, this does not mean that you only have to slay 15 boss monsters to acquire them. You may have to defeat 30 monsters before collecting 15 Merit Jades.
Once you have your 15 Merit Jades from monsters, you should focus on completing tasks in your Daily Activity meter, as you will receive Merit Jades when you reach the 80 and the 110 marks.
Council of State bonuses
You can only unlock the Council of State once you have reached level 32. Once it is built, you can assign a General to the Ground Troop section of the Governor title to receive the following buffs:
