STFC players can use their Monaveen to defeat Texas-class hostiles, which can be found in the new Texas-class space.
In September 2023, Scopely released update 58 for Star Trek Fleet Command and it introduced a new vessel, new officers and new missions.
According to the patch notes, the Monaveen is an economy-focused ship, however, only players level 40 and higher can add it to their fleet.
When you have unlocked the Monaveen, you can travel to the new Texas-class systems, which can be found next to Federation Space. In the new area of space, players can defeat Texas-class hostiles to earn loot.
When players attack a Texas-class enemy, their peace shield will be lowered. You will receive a notification pop-up which notifies you that your peace shield is lowered, which means that you are vulnerable to attacks from other players.
That being said, when you are in the new Texas-class systems, you may be attacked by one of the Texas-class enemies. If you are attacked, your peace shield will not be lowered, but it will be lowered when you attack an enemy.
You can therefore either attack the Texas-class enemy and lower your peace shield, which will leave you vulnerable to attacks, or you can have revenge hostiles attack you to keep your station protected.
You can exchange the loot that you earn by defeating the Texas-class hostiles in the Monaveen’s refinery for Queen’s Favors, Shipyard Directives and Monaveen-related items.
Commanders can use the new Directives to challenge the new Solo Armadas, Automated Shipyard, which drops Shipyard Credits upon defeat.
Where to find Texas-class enemies
It is worth noting that the Texas-class enemies are only in specific systems. However, the enemy’s level determines the system in which they spawn. The systems in which you can find them are:
Texas-class level | System |
40 |
|
42 |
|
44 |
|
46 |
|
50 |
|
51 |
|
53 |
|
55 |
|
56 |
|
58 |
|
60 |
|
Commanders should note that each one of these systems have a specific warp requirement. If your warp range is too low, you will not be able to reach the system.
However, you may be able to reach a lower-level planet. For instance, Medici has a warp requirement of 500, while Nonsuch has a warp requirement of 40.
How to add the Monaveen to your fleet
Although only players level 40 and higher can add the Monaveen to their fleet, players who are at level 38 and level 39 can start working towards constructing the vessel.
Similar to other vessels in STFC, you have to collect blueprints for the Monaveen to construct it.
Players can collect blueprints through end-of arc-stores, through the territory facilities or by purchasing it with real money.
If you are a free-to-play player, it may take some time to collect enough blueprints to add the vessel to your fleet. However, if you are willing to spend real money in STFC, you can purchase the blueprints to instantly build the vessel.
Constructing and deploying the Monaveen offers gamers substantial resource rewards, including Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium.
Texas-class Sentry
In addition to the normal Texas-class hostiles, there is a chance that you may encounter Texas-class Sentry enemies.
These hostels are more powerful than the normal version and therefore, only the strongest of players should try to defeat them.
Commanders can find the Texas-class Sentry hostiles in the same systems as the normal version of the enemy. Keep in mind that these enemies have a unique ability, Burned in a Fire.
When the enemy is attacked by a battleship, its Isolytic Defense is decreased by 30 percent for the rest of the battle.
We therefore recommend that you do not use a battleship to vanquish a Texas-class Sentry. This essentially means that you cannot use your Monaveen to defeat them as it is a battleship.
Wave Defense
Wave Defense is an exciting activity that expands the social aspect of being a Commander and challenges your ability to strategize and destroy powerful hostiles.
Players level 30 and higher can team up with other players to face multiple waves of hostiles.
That being said, every wave increases in difficulty. Waves are composed of a set of Federation Explorers, Klingon Intercepts on Romulan Battleships.
Depending on the level of the Wave Defense, you will have to deal with Swarm, Borg, Actian, Species 8472, Hirogen and Texas-class hostiles.
You have to coordinate with your team members to ensure that your team has ships to counter each of the incoming hostile types.
